POLYPHONIC EXOPHILIA

"The playful name indicates a sexual preference for extraterrestrial polyphonic soundscapes, which is an expression of the members preference for the new, the unexplored and unknown.

We will not attempt to control or even limit the effects of randomness and volatility on the project. On the contrary, we will embrace change and randomness and let the project evolve in many directions simultaneously. We want this project to be as exciting and unpredictable for its audience as it is for the participating artists."

With an approach to making music that is heavily based on jamming and improvisation with live instruments, this group consisting of three anonymous core members have taken upon themselves to make Jazz Funk relevant again.

They are however not limited by any definition of genre and have since their formation in 2021 explored new soundscapes, engaged in random collaborations and continuously pushed the limits of both their own and their listeners imagination.

Although POLYPHONIC EXOPHILIAs journey of musical exploration have been formed by random encounters, some travel companions have gone the extra length and became part of the PPXP family, notably Venezuela based ChurroGreen.

ChurroGreen is a remarkable musician and composer, a master of sitar and bass and have accompanied POLYPHONIC EXOPHILIA on their first two studio albums, ABRACADABRA and DEEP DIVER. ChurroGreen continues to work closely with POLYPHONIC EXOPHILIA on future projects and will also release music with other acts on PPXP Records in the future.

Our musical relatives also include New York based Lil Kyo XR and Bristol based Laura Dia.

LIL KYO XR is a highly capable vocalist, with a dynamic range from intelligent and evocative rap to beautiful and soulful harmonies with swagger and depth. He is also a skilled composer and producer. LIL KYO XR has released two EPs on PPXP Records together with POLYPHONIC EXOPHILIA. The first was the engaging and soulful DANGER and later the jazz influenced EP BE FINE, which contains the hit single "Take the world to find".

Laura Dia is a brilliant RnB singer and multi instrumentalist.  Quick to take on the challenge from POLYPHONIC EXOPHILIA in 2022 the musical encounter with Laura gave life to the funky and soulful EP SOUTH LONDON SESSIONS.

Other notable co-explorers includes the creative Japanese vocalist HIRO MIURA ("陶酔 (Tosui)" and "夢狂い") as well as the dark and mystical Norwegian vocalist ESSINAUKS ("Knight Becomes a Ritter" and "Fangs & Furs").

POLYPHONIC EXOPHILIA is currently working on their third studio album, scheduled for release Summer 2025! Stay tuned for more jazz funk and sensually progressive neo-soul.
